Student Send-Off Photos
Jul 28th, 2010 by Matt Bishop

All our guests had a great time at this year’s student send-off. We had a special treat and were able to offer not just one but two $1,000 scholarships for both freshmen and upperclassmen. Everyone chowed down on some nice Bono’s bar-b-que and talked about all the exciting times coming up in the next month or so when classes resume in Atlanta. Some photos:

Title: Student Send-Off
Location: 6000 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32217
Description: It’s time for our annual Student Send-Off on Tuesday, July 27th (6-8 PM). If you missed it last year, it’s a casual celebration honoring our incoming and current Tech students and their families.

In addition to sharing more about life and experiences on campus, we’re proud to continue the tradition of scholarship drawings for both a freshman and upperclassman in attendance. As an added bonus this year, I’m happy to announce that we’ll be doubling the amount of scholarship drawings from $2,000 to $4,000. TWO incoming freshman and TWO upperclassmen will be the lucky recipients of $1,000 each just for joining the party!

Cost: $10/person. No charge for incoming or current GT students. Includes barbecue and all the trimmings catered by Bono’s BarBQ.

RSVP: Wade Barnes at 904-744-9055

Description: Spring is in the air and plans for our annual Scholarship Dinner are now set. Please plan to join us on Tuesday, May 4th as we award our club’s four $5,000 scholarships, congratulate all of our incoming students, and listen to a campus update from our guest speaker.

Mr. Brian Woodall, Acting Chair of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs will be presenting “The Global Institute: Georgia Tech International Initiatives”. Created in 1990 and named in honor of former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn in 1996, the School’s programs focus on understanding the global context of advances in science and technology and on preparing students to address pressing concerns at the nexus of science, technology, and international affairs. Did you know that students have the opportunity to participate in School-sponsored summer programs in Europe, Argentina, Brazil, East Asia, and Mexico?

We’ve planned another entertaining program this year and I hope that you’ll reserve time to join us.

Accepted Student Recognition Photos
Apr 7th, 2010 by Matt Bishop

Everyone had a great time at Wade and Nancy Barnes’ house for the accepted student recognition dinner. Over 50 people came and both young and old alumni discussed what it’s like at Tech and how much they enjoyed going there. Many of our area’s prospective students got their questions answered and received guidance on what to do once on campus. Some photos:
