Description: You’re invited to attend our annual GT Admitted Student Reception on Tuesday, April 6th between 6:00 PM & 8:00 PM.

Purpose

• Encourage admitted students in our local area to choose GT as they prepare to make their final college decision.
• Offer parents and students the opportunity to interact with alumni and hear about their positive experiences at GT.
• More than 60 high school seniors in our area have been admitted for Summer/Fall 2010.
• 13 Students have applied for our Club’s Scholarships
• 4 Students have been interviewed for President’s Scholarship

Our hosts for the evening will be Wade & Nancy Barnes @ 5478 River Trail Rd North, Jacksonville, FL 32277.
Directions: North on University Blvd about 2 miles past Jacksonville University. Turn right into Charter Point neighborhood. Turn right at 3rd right onto River Trail Rd North.

A good time was had earlier this week at the freshman / student send-off. Almost 70 alumni, parents, and students attended the dinner at Wade’s condo’s clubhouse. Scholarship plaques were officially awarded and all the students got to hear stories about tech traditions, weird trivia, and some advice on what to do and what not to do when back at Tech. Two $1500 scholarships were also awarded to a freshman and upperclassman in attendance. Some photos:

Title: Freshman Send-Off Party
Location: 6000 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32207
Description: Please join us at the freshman send-off party this summer on July 28 as we wish good luck to all our new students as well as those returning for another year. This year’s event will be held at 6000 on the River which is Wade Barnes’ condominium complex, at the clubhouse. The complex is located behind the Shell station on the corner of San Jose Blvd and University Blvd. The party will be from 6-8 PM. It will be catered by Bono’s (barbecue and all the trimmings). We will draw for a $1000 scholarship for a freshman and an upperclassman (must be in attendance to enter and win). The cost is FREE for all students and $10 for everyone else.
